Privacy notice on processing of personal data in the Luontotieto website
This privacy notice contains the information to be provided to the data subject in accordance with Articles 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (2016/679). The statement includes information on how personal data is collected, used, disclosed and stored in the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke). Syke has the right to make technical alternations to this privacy notice without notifying the data subjects in advance.

Grounds for the processing
We process personal data in order to perform a task carried out in the public interest (Article 6(1)(e) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)) and Data Protection Act (1050/2018) Section 4 Subsection 2 Section 3).
The personal data collected and the purposes of processing them
Collected personal data are the e-mail addresses of people who contact the Luontotieto website. We use the personal data of people who contact the site for the purposes of developing the online service and, if necessary, for communication.
Automated decision-making and profiling are not made based on the gathered personal data.
General statistical data on the use of the online service are collected and used to develop the service. Cookies are used to collect the data, but users may disable cookies. You can control cookies via Cookie settings at the bottom of the site. However, this may cause the website to not function properly. The user statistics are based on log data on the server as well as on Google Analytics 4 reports in which the cookies of the Google Analytics 4 software and JavaScript code are used.
Sources of personal data
The personal data provided in connection with sending feedback are disclosed by the person who sent the feedback. So far, the website does not have online forms to collect personal data.
Processing personal data
Only persons participating in the development of the Luontotieto online service have access to the registered information.
Personal data is not transferred or disclosed outside the EU or EEA.
Protection of personal data
The Finnish Environment Agency (Syke) as the data controller has implemented the necessary technical and organizational measures and also requires them from the service providers it uses.
Storing personal data
Personal data is stored for the necessary time so that Syke can fulfill the processing purposes described in this notice. The data is deleted immediately after the purpose of use has ceased.
