Salmonid Populations in Flowing Waters is a dataset describing the occurrence of salmonid fish populations in rivers and streams. It has been compiled based on SYKE’s Ranta10 river network, the new catchment areas developed in the VALUE project (proposal), and the boundaries of the Environment and Natural Resources divisions of the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres) produced by the National Land Survey of Finland.

The dataset was produced through cooperation between SYKE and the ELY Centres. SYKE developed the data model, while the ELY Centres populated it with information on the occurrence of salmonid populations.

The dataset was first published to reflect the situation in 2020 and has since been updated once to reflect the situation in 2024.
